Charly Boy Responds to Lagos Bus Stop Being Renamed After Rapper Olamide

Veteran entertainer and activist, Charly Boy, has responded to the recent decision to rename a popular Lagos bus stop that previously bore his name.

The Bariga Local Government Development Area (LVDA) announced last Friday, July 25, that the well-known Charly Boy Bus Stop had been renamed Olamide Baddo Bus Stop, in honour of the award-winning rapper Olamide, a native of the area.

The change sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians suggesting that the move may have been politically motivated—possibly linked to Charly Boy’s outspoken criticism of the current administration.

In what appears to be a subtle but defiant reaction, Charly Boy shared a photo on social media accompanied by the caption:

“Bus stop or no bus stop, Fada no dey finish. Go verify. Dia Father’s left nyash.”

The statement reflects his trademark bold style, suggesting that while names may change, his influence and legacy remain untouched.
