During a recent event, veteran actress Iyabo Ojo declared that the cycle of negative marital experiences in her family ends with her. She confidently stated that her daughter, Priscilla, will not endure the same struggles.
Iyabo urged women to speak positively into the lives of their children and reject the notion that ancestral curses or past failures must repeat across generations. She emphasized that the foundation of Priscilla’s marriage has been spiritually strengthened to prevent past mistakes from recurring.
Addressing her daughter, Iyabo said:
“We women must begin to prophesy good things into the lives of our children. Don’t believe that because a certain thing happened to your mum, it must happen to you or your children. Break the cycle. Ancestral curses exist, but you must break and stop them.
Priscilla, your marriage will work. You will grow old with your husband, who will be by your side from youth to old age, and you will raise your children in peace because you married well — the bones of your bones, the flesh of your flesh. If mine didn’t work, yours will, because I have paid that sacrifice for yours to succeed.”
Priscilla married Tanzanian singer Juma Jux in April 2025, and the couple recently announced they are expecting their first child.
